Friday 8 and Saturday 9 November 2024 with Fundraising Dinner on the Friday evening
The Canmore Trust (SC051511) hosted an amazing two-day Wellbeing Conference on 8th and 9th November 2024 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow. The conference brought together doctors, nurses, veterinary surgeons and dentists, as members of the healthcare professions with the highest rates of suicide, to offer mutual support, to encourage wellbeing, and to find common paths towards hope and suicide prevention.
The Conference was delighted to have a number of renowned speakers taking part, including: Professor Rory O’Connor, President of the International Association for Suicide Prevention; Alice Hendy MBE, founder of the award-winning charity R;pple; Fiona Drouet MBE, founder of EmilyTest; Richard McCann, internationally-acclaimed motivational speaker and author of Just a Boy; and Haylis Smith, Scotland’s National Suicide Prevention Delivery Lead.
On the Friday evening we held a wonderful fundraising dinner which was attended by almost 200 people. The theme of the dinner was Celebrating Life and we were delighted to have our Canmore ambassador Judith Ralston hosting the evening, with Liam Dolan who we all agreed carried out a magnificent job as our auctioneer for the Live Auction. Our thanks to the hugely popular Big Smile Band who performed wonderfully throughout the evening and who are always so very supportive of The Canmore Trust.
