Welcome to The Canmore Trust Podcast where we share conversations of hope, support and connection.
In this fourth episode, John Gibson is joined by Natalie Dakhil who shares her lived experience of losing her father Mick and the inspiration he continues to be in her life.
In response to her grief, Natalie and her husband Anton founded A Place Called Here, a weekly face-to-face suicide bereavement support group based in Glasgow. The group was created to develop a community fostering connection, hope and healing.
Natalie reflects on what she has learned about herself since starting the group, the unique power of vulnerability and honesty and the importance of creating spaces where light and joy can coexist with loss.
She also discusses the challenges in Scotland and shares her vision for change, as well as the factors behind suicide rates and what she’d hope for with unlimited resources.
